Celebrity News

This is the third post in the May edition of RANDOM Magazine
Hello everyone! Today I will tell you about some celebrity news and fashion news! Shall we start?

The NEWS:

Okay let's break this up into parts:

  • Good news: Self-explanatory, news that is somewhat good to hear.
  • Bad news: Self-explanatory, news that you don't really want to hear unless you hate the celebrities [in the news].
  • Other news: Well, news that is neither good nor bad.
  • Fashion: My favourite photos and outfits from premieres, festivals, concerts, or just spotted somewhere.

Good news:

Taylor Swift donates $4M to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Our favourite country singer is giving back to her fans by donating $4,000,000,000 to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. $4M is the largest donation given to the museum by an artist and the second largest from 1 person. The money will fund the Taylor Swift Education Center, a classroom and exhibit opening in 2014.

Demi Lovato and Britney Spears join Simon Cowell and L.A. Ried as the new "X factor" judges.

30 year old Britney Spears and 19 year old Demi Lovato replace Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger as the new X factor Judges. What do you think about these new additions?

Kanye joins "Keeping up with the Kardashians."

After getting over the 72 day marriage with Kris, Kim has moved on to a new man- Kanye West, and according to the preview, it looks like Kanye will be joining the Kardashian series. Are you exited to see the new season?

Bad news:

iCarly canceled after 5 seasons.

After 5 seasons, it's confirmed that iCarly is coming to an end. In June the cast will film their last episode airing November. Miranda is going to USC but it seems the rest of the cast are staying in Nick and joining to series. How do you feel about the end of iCarly?

Jennifer Lopez quitting American Idol.

Because of her hectic schedule(mom of twins, tour with Enrique Iglesias, recording an album, film projects etc), JLo has confirmed leaving AI. Are you sad that JLo won't be judge anymore? Who do you think should be a new judge?

Josh Hutcherson had a surgery to fix his broken nose.

The 'Hunger Games' star Josh Hutcherson recently had a operation to repair a deviated septum. Ouch!

John Mayer had botox in his vocal cords.

John Mayer had vocal cord problems that make him unable to sing so they injected his vocal cords with botox to make it freeze. He had to cancel tour dates after learning he'd have to have a second botox shot because his first botox did not work.

Phillip Phillips jeopardising his health to stay in the competition.

Phillip Phillips, now in the top 2 or American Idol, needs a surgery to repair a kidney tissue as soon as possible. But if he has the surgery he would have to be in the sidelines for six weeks, so he will wait till after the finale. In the meantime, he is just taking medication but it is resulting to dry mouth-which may affect his singing. Who do you want to win?

Jackie Chan is retiring from action movies.

Jackie Chan, 58, announced in the Cannes movie festival that he is retiring from action movies because he feels too old for stunts and is tired. "Chinese Zodiac" will be his last action flick. How do you feel about Jackie Chan quitting action movies? Which of his was your favourite?

Other news:

'America's Next Top Model' cycle 19 twist.

After firing Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel, and Jay Alexander, ANTM welcome a new cast Johnny Wujek and Rob Evans. Wujek(stylist of celebrities such as Katy Perry and Shakira) replacing Manuel will serve as the creative consultant to guide the models during the shoot. As for model Chris Evans will be the new judge replacing Nigel Barker. Other than the cast change, there is another major change: we(the audience) will have a say on who goes home. Are you still going to watch after these major changes?

Have you watched Nicki Minaj's new music video featuring rappers Chris Brown and Nas? Tell us what you think.

Fashion:

Time for fashion! Here are some of my favourite looks of the week!

Let's start with fashion from the streets.

Demi Lovato at ABC Kitchen

Demi, the newest X factor judge, has dinner with the rest of the judges at ABC Kitchen. Demi's outfit is a perfect example of the famous 'pop of color' and also and an example of using accessories to change your outfit. She is also embracing the 'gold' trend with her rings, earrings, and clutch- but we wonder "Who did her makeup???"

AnnaSophia Robb and Nina Dobrev at NYC.

They all look gorgeous head-to-toe!

AnnaSophia's beautiful halter dress showcases one of my favourite trends: Floral. I also love her black heels!

Nina Dobrev looks great in her stunning Dolce & Gabbana gold dress and Jimmy Choo clutch and heels.

Now let's go to the red carpet of the 65th Cannes Film Festival!

Eva Longoria
Eva Longoria looks absolutely BREATHTAKING head-to-toe in this embroidered Marchesa gown with a matching bejewelled clutch. It fits her figure perfectly and elongates her body as well. Eva Longoria has never looked better!
Eva Longoria
Eva looks gorgeous yet again but this time in an elegant Alberta Feretti Fall 2012 gown. She kept it classy with her beautiful bun.
Jessica Chastain
Jessica Chastain looks astonishing in this strapless white Giorgio Armani gown. With the statement earrings, red lipstick, and side-styled hair she really looks like a movie star!
Chen Tingjia
Chen Tingjia looks like a fairy in this dazzling pastel gown. Although she's wearing a quite revealing dress, she still looks like she's in a fairytale.
Diane Kruger
Diane Kruger looks SPECTACULAR in this free-flowing Giambatista Valli mint chiffon gown. With this amazing dress she kept the rest of the outfit simple but still so elegant.
Freida Pinto
Feida Pinto looks so fresh and unique in this strapless peplum dress by Michael Angel. To match her sequined dress, she paired it with a bejewelled Louis Vuitton clutch.

Which outfit from the Cannes Film Festival was your favourite?

Now that we're done with the Cannes Film Festival, let's go to other premieres.

Brooklyn Decker
Brooklyn Decker looks extraordinary in this beautiful Christian Dior strapless gown, complete with tiered ruffles, a sheer floor-length skirt, and peach Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

(Starting from the left) Brooklyn Decker, Elizabeth Banks, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Anna Kendrick.
They all look fantastic at the What to Expect when you're Expecting Premiere.

Nicole Sherzinger looks astounding in her purple halter gown at the Men in Black premiere. The former pussycat doll kept it simple with windswept hair, hoop earrings, and black heels.
Jada Pinkett Smith
Jada Pinkett Smith looks amazing in her lime-green Versace mini dress with studs. She accessorised it with bronze Jimmy Choo shoes and a sleek ponytail.

Now let's go to the Snow White and the Huntsman premiere/s
